Another weak Friday night

15 minute walk. What a slacker. Granted, it was January and pretty cold.
But I do always think people will be mad when I say I will go to these open events and I don't show up. No one ever seems to even notice. Which I guess is good.

Don't vacuum the baby

Poor Gertrude. My trash can of phobias and worries. They are absurd, but it helps to write them down and Gertrude comics are insanely fun to draw. I will try to post one of these for about every 5 of the other comics, but they take a lot longer to make.
Here is my original practice drawing of Gertrude. And the previous vacuum comic is the first real comic I did of her.  Babies kind of freak me out what with their complete lack of self-maintenance.

Friday Night

This was obviously drawn in direct response to freaking out on a Friday night. I realized what I needed to do to help myself, plan and have a back up plan and not freak out. Anyways, now that Abe is here Friday nights, I don't even really notice. Writing about it now, I realize what a huge difference the low-grade anti-anxiety/anti-depression pills have made. It's rather thrilling, actually, to realize after re-reading this comic how much better I feel.

Spider!

Boy, spiders freak me out and not in a funny way. I still can't dry my hands on the towel in my mom's downstairs bathroom because they made me looked at the giant brown spider living it in a few years ago. Abe is nice about it and takes care of all the spiders. With a lot of good humor considering how much I jump around and squeal. One of the girliest things I do, actually.

That's Ernie squashed between us on the couch. I should do a comic about that marvelous, tiny couch. Anyways, for some reason, Ernie loves being squashed between us. It sounds really uncomfortable but the look on his face is so happy and he always lets us know when he wants down (usually because he is too hot).

Also, if you have been reading the last few comics, you might notice I changed the site a bit. I have never used this dynamic layout before, so I might have to play with it a bit. You can check out other view up in the nav bar where it says Sidebar. The previous view was Magazine if you prefer it. I also added a Find me page with links to my other websites and a list of the conventions I will be at for the rest of the year.

Blanket Skirt

That's pretty much how I am dressed around the house all winter.

Cold Shirt

Swears!  Anyways, our apartment really does have a weird water problem. A couple winters ago it rained for pretty much 6 months straight here and our outer walls in our bedroom started to get covered in mold. Abe went ape-shit on it and cleaned it all up right before we headed out to do something. So everything is extra cold because it is a little damp. My dresser is closer to the window than Abe's so my clothes are wetter. I just realized how appropriate these first two comics are for the title "Spaz Hands" since both are about my spazziness breaking something.
Also, the layouts will be less spastic as we move on. I got better at laying everything out before inking. Practice practice.

Broken Plate

Welp. Here's my first real comic from this auto bio stuff. Enjoy.

Valentine's 2012

OK. Here's the first actual comic. Most will not be in this format. I just drew this for Abe for Valentine's day this year.

Love me tacos

I'll also do some comics like this that aren't stories, but more about thoughts I had. Like how much I like tacos. My mom and her husband Jim got invited to a taco party when I was up for an art vacation, but it was a short vacation so we skipped it for more art. But I was sad about the tacos.

Guts

My guts!

Skipping

Abe is my boyfriend. that is us skipping and holding hands. Abe has a tendency to skip when happy. I think this is the only place I draw his legs so scary.

Ballooning

Doesn't flying around via balloon seem fun?

Power Girl

I read Bomb Squad and really enjoyed Power Girl.

Beach Bod

Saw a cute swimsuit.

Not a great dancer

More dancing. I was trying out how it looked drawn with a brush instead of a pen, but I like the pen better.

Winter Wear

I go crazy on outfits in the snow.

Sleepy

I work a 40 hour week job and spend as much time as I can making comics, but sometimes I get too tired. That's our dog Ernie. We have two Pembroke Welsh Corgis and the other is called Nisa. She's black, so you will be able to tell the difference.

Dancing

This is the shower I did in the dance as a kid and kicked the faucet and still have a scar on my heel.
Sorry, if you watch me other places, you will likely recognize most of this stuff I put up today. But Come Tuesday will be all new stuff.

Me

So I guess I will start an auto bio comic. Not so much a journal because I am a slacker who can't keep up on a thing like that, but my thoughts about current days, past days, and whatever randomly pops into my head. Most will use this character but not all. I have a lot of back log so for now I will post T and Thursday. Hmm. Same days as my web comic The Jerks posts. I will post a bunch of little drawings of the me character now and start posting actual comics on Tuesday next week. By posting, T Th, I mean sometime that day. So you  might want to check Wednesday Friday. :|
