Star Trek Fan

I was watching this again for the third or fourth time that night.  Love that movie. I love all the Star Trek stuff. So good. Agh!

Anyways, I'm back. Sheesh. I am at school, now. I am currently waiting for some files to upload to Google Drive to get them from the lab to my house. But I am staying on top of my homework well. I will upload them to my tumblr (inkyphalangies) after I turn them in. There is one up now and I will be posting two more tonight.

So I am not sure where this comic is going. I might turn it more into a daily comic. Sort of, or more than sort of, in the style of Citric Comics by Ian Anderson, a comic I love.

I will eventually do comics about the drive from Seattle to Vermont. Not sure when. I can't find my drawing pad that I took notes in. There's some good stuff in there. Like tracking the things we saw on the side of the road.

Bellyrub Funnytongue

So yeah. That happened.
\
I watched Star Trek: Into Darkness and couldn't do anything else because it was so awesome. This was at least my third time watching it.

Don't forget! Check out the kickstarter for my natural science comic anthology, Awesome Possum. We are close to funding at the time I'm writing this. It's so good.

Books!

I didn't even go into the library until Wednesday or Thursday. What a waste! I grabbed a handful of books and even traded with Allie. I read Lucille by Ludovic Debeurme and I think that was the best book of my trip. I started reading Big Questions by Anders Nilsen, too but didn't have time to finish it. I do want to get that book though. They were both fantastic. In fact, I was just thinking about Lucille again yesterday on the drive home.

More comics about the Cartooning Studio workshop I went to in Vermont at the Center for Cartoon StudiesYou can also buy the whole book with these comics and the two mini comics I made during the week: Cartooning Studio 2013.

Arriving places

More comics about the Cartooning Studio workshop I went to in Vermont at the Center for Cartoon StudiesThe people in Vermont were very nice. Though I suppose the guy working at the airport was actually from New Hampshire.

You can also buy the whole book with these comics an the two mini comics I made during the week: Cartooning Studio 2013.

Hourly Comics Day 2014

Sheesh. I forgot to post these. I did Hourly Comics Day this year, which is traditionally February 2. Finally it was a on a weekend when I do more than stare at a computer screen for 8 hours or more and drive for at least an hour and a half. I was even going to go to the zoo with Abe, but we had to cancel because the washer/dryer was going to be installed. Worth it!

Dogs are the best

I don't know why my handwriting is so messy in this one. Probably too excited about dogs while I drew this. I can't believe how much I love dogs sometimes. I'm on zyrtek once a day now so I am not itchy so much when I pet the dogs, but my face sure is leaky a lot.
\That last panel is a bunch of fat-bellied Whippet puppies. So cute with their big round bellies, but they never get bigger as the dog does. I think the circumference of their puppy belly is about the same as the adult.
Anyways, I think I forgot to post this awesome image announcing that you can buy Spaz Hands Volume 1.
Abe this this image is so weird. He laughed and laughed.

Squirrel!

We've moved offices since this, but at our old office for my day job, I had a nice window seat. (Now I am in the middle of the building and all the windows are tinted.) And right outside my window was a little tree. And in that tree, there were often squirrels. I never jumped out of my seat, but that was mostly because I didn't want the squirrel to see me and run away.
Man I  miss having a window.

If you are as excited as me, you can fill your time rereading the first year of comics, but in print!

Creamer can suck it

Tea snob. Or slob. I only drink my Irish Breakfast tea with milk and sugar. Not half and half because the flavor overpowers the tea. There is supposed to be milk on the top shelf of our drink fridge at work all the time, but we were running out by Thursday every week for a while. They seem to be better on top of it now. They supply 2% and chocolate! So I can have chocolate milk whenever I want. But I don't.

Doctor Who weepies

Abe's face never changes when watching Doctor Who. He rarely laughs or looks like he is making any connection. Until the end of the episodes because they always make him cry.
I think he doesn't make faces because whenever anything happens I look at him to see what he thought of the scene.

Ridiculous lyrics

Gwen Stefani's Hollerback Girl. I kind of love this song. But I have no idea what she is saying.

Cintiq

I haven't used it a super lot, but I have used it. Here are some of the pieces I have done on my cintiq.

Stars of Stumptown 2013

Seriously, I was star struck for like a week after meeting Boulet. He is just fantastic. And Faith, I felt like I had already met her. She is very sweet.
Again. Seriously. Stumptown is my favorite show. Just amazing.

Poirot

So after I finished Poirot, I think I watched Rebus. It was a while ago now. Rebus was good but the actor who played Rebus changed between season 1 and 2 which threw me off a bit. I have only watched one episode of Miss Marple. She kind of irks me with her coy, "I'm just an old lady" thing. But I think that was more part of the time period than her being a jerk. Oh yeah. I totally just called Miss Marple a jerk.

Sniper

Aw. I haven't played Borderlands 2 in so long. Our friend Jeff has shitty internet and can't play. Any time Abe and I play, it just makes us miss playing with Jeff. Boy do I love playing a sniper though.

The Hobbit

I know a lot of people seem to have not enjoyed The Hobbit, but I really did. I never read the book, but I watched the cartoon movie from the 80s or whenever a bunch when I was littler.
The pacing was wacky. And the fact that the brown wizard has poop on his face makes up for the lame fat dwarf.

Laptop

I really do adore this laptop and I really do abuse it like this. There are cup rings on the lid! But now that I have my Nexus 7 tablet, I use the laptop a lot less. I am amazed how much I love that tablet.

Mordecai

Borderlands and Borderlands 2 are pretty much my favorite games right now. I am pretty much always a sniper, but in Borderlands 2 even though Zero is the main sniper, anyone can really be a sniper. So my main character is Zero and I am trying some others. Mordecai was the sniper in Borderlands. He'd kind of an idiot, but better than Big Dumb Brick. :)

Rosemary and Thyme

So sad there is no more show. And it just ended. On an episode where they were fighting. Wah.

Batman

I get a new pair of shoes and basically only wear those shoes for at least 2 months. So now I have Batgirl low-top Converse, and Batman hi-top converse. Between those two, I don't really need any other shoes do I? Though Converse does have a design your own shoes thing that I am dying to try. I now also have a Batman hoodie that has become my jacket because I apparently lost all the other actual jackets I own.
I can't remember if I posted this before, but it is a "family portrait" Amanda suggested at Drink and Draw right after Abe and I got our hair cut. Sorry if you have heard this story before. The end.
